Next Stop, Ilkley!

FOIRS was established September 2021 and was at the request of NR to create an organisation it could work with to understand the requirements of Ilkley for its Rail Station.

As a result, a group of us volunteered to set up FOIRS, which is now a registered charity.

During our first months we quickly came to the conclusion to create a ‘blueprint’ to what we thought a town station should look like and how it could best serve local residents and visitors alike. In fact we want to create for Ilkley, WYCA, Northern and Network Rail the very best ‘Town Rail Station in the UK”

We have set about this by creating a detailed proposal of how we envisage the station could be in the future.
